DIY Christmas Trees

I love the cone-shaped Christmas Trees that you can find EVERYWHERE! The beauty of them is they come in all different colors, sizes and textures. If you go to Hobby Lobby you can find TONS of them in all different colors and sizes. I just about purchased several already made and then I ran across some blank tree cones and decided to try my own DIY Christmas Trees.

The beauty of this project is that you can use a variety of things to decorate your tree. I like textures, so I went with fur and 2 different types of yarns.

Here is the blank tree cone that I found at Hobby Lobby. I could only find 2 different sizes.
Here are 3 types of materials I used for my 3 DIY Christmas Trees
I used a hot glue gun to glue the material around the tree. (I used same method on all 3 different types of materials by starting at the top of the tree and gluing down the tree)
I glued the material all of the way down to the bottom……

This project was SUPER easy and also allows you to use whatever colors and materials you want. NOW…I am noticing it is getting hard to find these blank Tree cones. They are sold out on Hobby Lobby’s website and they are a bit pricey on Amazon. I am going to try something that I am NOT TOO SURE if it will work. The Dollar Tree has these really shiny plastic cone trees (for $1)…..SO I am going to try to adhere some brown kraft paper to the outside of them. Hopefully that will work to be my “blank slate” to create some more of my own DIY Christmas Trees. ALSO these Dollar Tree cone trees are a smaller size so this will give my collection a wider variety of sizes.

See here the “bright shiny” Dollar Tree trees that I am going to try to “repurpose”. Not too crazy about the decor but LOVE the size!

I hope you enjoyed this little project! Getting ready for Christmas is so much fun!!!
