DIY Herb Garden
I had never really used herbs while cooking meals until lately. Scott and I have been trying to “eat better” and a lot of the recipes call for various herbs. We found ourselves buying them a lot at the grocery store but didn’t always use all that we purchased. SO….I thought about creating our own DIY Herb Garden so we could consume only the amount that we needed.
For my Herb Garden I decided to use an old pallet for the display. As you can see I was able to utilize one of my favorite recyclable items…..tin cans. I chose to paint the tin cans with black matte chalk paint and label them with large “tongue depressor” sticks cut in half. The cans are merely attached to the pallet with jute string.
I was able to find some pre-grown plants at Lowe’s but if I could not find a pre-grown plant I planted seeds.
I have a perfect spot in our backyard to display our new Herb Garden. I’m not known for having a “green thumb” so wish me luck in keeping these precious things alive!!!
